MSC Messina is a Liberian-flagged container ship. The ship is operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company which is the second largest container operator in the world. It was built in 1995.
Libera-flagged box ship MSC Messina suffered fire damage off the coast of Sri Lanka has arrived in Singapore for repairs, according to the country’s Maritime and Port Authority (MPA)The 4,743-TEU ship suffered a fire outbreak in the engine room on 25 June 2021 in the Bay of Bengal, while MSC Messinawas en-route from Colombo, Sri Lanka to Singapore.
The fire was put out and the vessel was towed to Singapore for repairs and cargo operations, arriving in Singapore last week (6 July) to discharge containers, and is now in an unnamed shipyard for repairs.
ZPA led the fast delivery to replace entire damaged power system in design, manufacturing, Supply, FAT, Testing & Commissioning for the Main Switchboard(IEC 61439-1), Group Starters Panels, Transformers, Busducts, Bow Thruster Panels, distribution panels. and Control panels.
